Personnel Update - May 2023

Learning Budget 2023:
As a long-term business, we are committed to developing long-term team members, and one aspect of that is the Learning Budget: an allocation for self-directed inquiry. Develop your skills and knowledge in anything relating (even indirectly) to our business.

Full-time employees who have been employed through one full bonus cycle are eligible to receive a learning budget, and the LB year runs from 1 May to 30 April. Claims only indirectly relating to our business will require an explanation of what your learning will bring to our business and may be taxable on you as Fringe Benefits. Bigger and... better?
Headcount across group companies has increased in 2023 by more than 20% so far, and all entities are still hiring. No less than 16 interns will be joining in H2 May 2023, and keeping (and enhancing) our culture of friendliness, risk-taking, fun, and productivity with such growth will be an effort of every existing member.

As mentioned in the March update, some of this comes from professional Mentoring on the desks. But some of this comes simply from treating people right, showing interest in junior members, getting out adventuring and socializing together across desks, and taking time to make sure others are having the experience you'd have wanted to have yourself.

Summer Social Calendars:
Between BBQs, climbing trips, surfing trips, baseball games, poker nights, city cruises, and the legendary dinner at Ray's, each entity has plans for the summer - not just for new members but for the whole team. Detailed events calendars will be shared for GROT and TMOP folks shortly and ORTR liaising has begun, so save the dates.

Meanwhile, our culture will be what we make it, so feel free not only to get out and enjoy but also to send us a message to suggest gathering ideas in case you think something is missing.
