Personnel Update - Aug 2024

Growing Firm

People have asked about our firm growth and as of this August our full-time employment was as follows

  • TransMarket Operations - 87 (15 Algorithmic Traders, 42 Quantitative traders, 30 Technology & Business staff)

  • Grupo Oricteropo Tropical - 35 (4 Algorithmic Traders, 16 Quantitative traders, 15 Technology & Business staff)

  • Oryctérope Transalpin - 25 (7 Algorithmic Traders, 15 Quantitative traders, 8 Technology & Business staff)

  • La Compagnie d'Octodure Sàrl - 2 (2 Quantitative traders)

  • Verabit Sàrl - 3 (1 Algorithmic Traders, 2 Quantitative traders)

  • 2% Employee Turnover since August of 2023

  • 73 frontline Trading staff

Across all affiliates this represents a 17% increase when compared to August of last year and 30% increase from January of last year.  All that to say there are a lot of news faces!  If you don't recognize someone remember we have a staff directory at ARK or you could go old school and just introduce yourself!

Recruiting and Referrals (Recommendations) 

Fall recruiting is our busiest recruiting season and as before we need your help.  At TMG we follow the Good to Great model of First Who Then What and building our business requires talented people and its likely you know them.  

Referrals are one of the best ways to recruit talented people. Our generous referral program remains in place.  As a reminder referrals should reach the threshold of a recommendation that you would make or someone you trust would make.  Unvetted connections should not simply be passed along.  However if you do get connected and you have a conversation with them and they reach the level of recommendation then we want to see them!

Interviewing 

Some groups have received specific training on interviewing for there open roles but as a reminder to everyone when you interview someone keep in mind these helpful tips that help us evaluate candidates  as well as represent the firm well

  • Character Character Character-  these are the first three things we look for in people and this is every interviewers job

  • Being Winners, being people who are fun to work with, and people who can do the job are the other characteristics of people we want on our team.

  • Be human:  Share from your TMG experience and find something in common.  This regularly sets us apart from others in the space. 

  • Learn something useful-  its not just about evaluating talent - we can always be curious to learn something new - including something that might help out business

Training

Training efforts have also been underway this year.  With TMG 101 wrapping up recently and management leadership training completed in the Swiss office in the winter and in process in the Chicago office. The return of TMG 120 is around the corner as well!

The firm is committed to developing our team members to not only thrive in post but to grow to face the new challenges of tomorrow.

Rippling and Reviews

Thank you to everyone for your adoption of the new Rippling platform for reviews.  Operationally things went very smoothly overall and we are thankful those of you who provided feedback.
